This is the recipe for my first ever home made pasta sauce! It passed the taste test with my friends and family and it’s a recipe that even my boyfriend can follow. I use this as a base for all tomato based dishes now and it makes a healthy salsa for nachos.

The cheese is optional here so if you have a dairy allergy you can skip this altogether.

Enjoy! :D

Ainzlie’s amazing pasta sauce

1 onion

1 clove garlic (optional)

1 pinch of mixed herbs

Pinch of salt & pepper

Pinch of chilli flakes (optional) – You can also use a chilli pepper here if you want

1-2 peppers (frozen are good)

Chopped tomatoes (basics cartons are great)

Tomato paste (optional)

Cheese (optional, leave out to make the recipe vegan)

Fry onions and garlic in the pan with some oil (preferably olive oil) until browned, add peppers and fry for 1 minute. Add tomatoes, paste and seasoning, turn down heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Add cheese, simmer for 1-2 minutes then serve.
