Amazing recipe for Christmas time, when families get together and big dinners are happening, it’s always handy to have an allergy free recipe to dig out. This is part of my “5 or less ingredients” cruisade, I am determined to find yummy, healthy recipes with less than 5 ingredients, and then share them with you, my loyal Savages :P

This is a recipe for a gluten free, nut free, dairy free, paleo, vegan, raw chocolate mousse. No added sugar. No added anything really. Just real foods.

Date me chocolate mousse: This is a very rich desert and so portion sizes are small. These amounts serve 6 people, or 3 extreme chocoholics

10 pitted dates
2 tablespoons of coconut oil
Dash of almond milk – can also use coconut milk
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
Flavouring (e.g mint, orange, if desired)

Soften the dates in the pan with 2 tablespoons of boiling water, as they soften break them apart with a wooden spoon. Once they start to absorb the water and have become softer, add in a splash of almond milk.

Mix together then pour into a blender and blend well until date mixture is smooth.

While the dates are blending, add 2 tablespoons of coconut oil to the pan and melt. Add in the cocoa powder and stir in.

Add the smooth date mix to the coconut chocolate and lower the heat.

Simmer and stir for 1-2 minutes, take care not to burn. Add your flavouring at this point if using.

Transfer to serving dishes and place in the fridge for 1-2hours.

Serve and Enjoy!
