Firstly, no typo, I’m talking about my denim jeans.

My blue jeans that didn’t fit me in January.

Why am I talking about this?

Well…

As you may know I’m fairly blessed in the booty region, and getting jeans to fit just right is a nightmare.

What my jeans can teach you about weight loss

Christmas came and well… Despite my best intentions jeans didn’t fit in January.

I’ve gone the other way now

Jeans are too big

^^^ Breaking News: personal trainer knows how to lose weight

What to do?

Buy new jeans?
Expose myself to the hassle and stress that is shopping for women’s clothes?

All the sizing errors
All the different cuts of jeans
Belts, yes or no?
What colour?

I’d rather not wear jeans again.
Especially since I rarely do.

Then it came to me,

Just sew a new button onto my jeans and to pull them in a few inches.

^^^ never occurred to me before.

Why?

No idea.

It’s just not something I’ve ever done, but as it happens

I can sew buttons
I can sew buttons on denim
And, they fit me now, no cost, little fuss, new jeans.

The point of the story here is not about me altering my jeans for weight loss
(Although, enjoy the handy tip)

It’s about the years of stress shopping that I’ve done when my clothes got too big and I had to buy new ones

All of this could’ve been avoided had I simply taken the easiest step, which is to adjust what I already have, rather than buy something new.

^^^ see where I’m going with this?

Diets are the same.

You realise we’ve gained weight

You panic

You decide to lose weight
You panic again until we find a plan

It’s usually an extreme plan

You throw out everything about your diet and change it drastically because someone said you should

When really, all you had to do was look at what your diet is like now and make manageable changes.

Small changes like drinking more water for example.

Such an easy thing to do, no hassle, no fuss.

But it’s one step closer to a better you.

Stick with the low hanging fruit here, make the easiest changes you can with what you’ve got.

Don’t stress yourself with having to make big changes

Small changes bring results too.
