Every client that I train is slightly different but all of my most successful clients have one thing in common…

Commitment to change.

Unlike my nutrition coaching there are no upper limits on training in person with me. Some clients have goals that require more time to achieve, others like to keep on top of it all once they have the fitness level and body that they want.

The difference is that week on week they

commit to our sessions,
work on their plans,
follow the suggestions
and don’t let any excuses get in their way.

Whats better is that every one of them assumes they’re not capable of this when we first meet.

So how do these clients become successful in the long term?

Building a habit.

You might feel like bad habits follow you round and you’re unable to change them. The good news is that good habits can be just as ingrained into your day – you just need the support and accountability to help you build the habits.

It does mean focusing every single day on the end goal, working towards building the habit and accepting that change doesn’t happen overnight – but it does happen.

Learning how to adapt to life

With the best will in the world we all know that things change and we can’t stop it.

New jobs
New relationships
Illness
Injury
Life stress
Health concerns
Worries for loved ones

So what happens when these things interfere with your perfect plan?

All of these things can throw you out of your routine, pull you back into your previous bad habits and can mean you “fall off the wagon”.

This is one of the reasons why most people who lose weight gain it back, plus more, after a period of time.

By training with me for 12 months my clients develop the mindset and skills to navigate these changes and make sure that the results keep coming.

Trusting the process.

It’s easy to be dissuaded by quick fix plans and the newest diet trends but when you find a good personal trainer they will laugh heartily at Juice Plus, Herbalife and the others.

Weight loss and life change is a process that cannot be rushed, in order to trust your trainer and follow the process you need to cut out all the noise and know that what you’re doing might take longer but it’s better.

This can take a lot of trust and time but the time taken to trust that change will happen is worth it.

Yes, this fancy supplement might promise quick weight loss results, but we both know it doesn’t work.

Does this mean you need to train with me for 12 months? No, of course not. But it is true that the more time spent learning, growing and testing your capabilities the better prepared you will be for the rest of your life.

And that’s what my job is – not to hold your hand forever – but to teach you how to live a healthy life, always.
